Easy to Make Diet ShakesOne of the best ways to lose weight is to have delicious and nutritious diet shakes in your meal plans. It is definitely possible to buy products from some of the leading weight loss groups that lets you make a diet shake. However, it is quite easy to make your own diet shakes. Basic Ingredient: Fruit Each diet shake can start with a fruit that you like. Many people enjoy berries, which can be bought frozen when out of season. A wonderful diet shake fruit are blueberries. They are filled with good nutrition, do not have a great deal of calories, taste good, and are easy to obtain, either fresh or frozen. An alternative to consider from time to time are bananas. Bananas can be a bit higher in the calories, (for example, a banana has 105 calories while a cup of blueberries has only 83.) However, bananas do give needed potassium so they should be used from time to time. Melon is also quite good; a cup of casaba melon only has 48 calories. Next Ingredient: Protein In addition to fruit, you want to include protein in your diet shake. The easiest way to do this is to buy a prepared protein powder supplement. These supplements can come flavored (vanilla, chocolate) or unflavored. The protein may be from soy, whey, or rice. Whey protein is often easiest to digest. Third Ingredient: Liquid You have several possibilities for liquid. If you are using a flavored protein powder, the simplest liquid is water. Because you have the fruit and the protein, you will have sufficient flavor in your drink. You may also opt for juice, such as apple juice as the liquid. Some people like to include almond milk or soy milk as the liquid. However these are often quite high in calories, and are probably best left out of the diet stage of weight loss. Optional Ingredient: Yogurt A way to get a smooth and rich tasting diet shake is to include 4 to 8 ounces of non-fat, non-fruit, plain yogurt. You don’t need the flavor as you already added fruit. However, the yogurt gives you some extra protein, is good for your stomach, and will not add excessive calories. Option Ingredient: Ground Flax Seeds If you really want to help your system, include a tablespoon of ground flax seeds (freshly ground: they do not keep.) The flax seeds are perfect for aiding digestion, giving you needed oils, and are a great flavor booster. (Note, be sure you have no medical problem for which flaxseeds are counter-indicated, such as diverticulitis, etc.) Make the Diet Shake
Making your shake fresh each morning gives you a great way to start your day, and will help you keep to your diet, because you have given your self the gift of nutrition. All the ingredients are easily found in your own supermarkets, and will cost much less than buying an artificial shake product, which may be filled with unnecessarily chemicals.
