A Diet Plan You’ll LoveIf you want to lose weight, and are willing to make just a small effort, here’s a diet plan that will not only work, but you may like it so much, you’ll keep on after you reach your goal. Eat What You Love – In Moderation The basic principle behind weight loss is to balance your intake of food with your output of energy. The more energy you burn, the more you can eat the foods you love, as along as it is in moderation. Any food can be okay, if you eat it in moderation, and if you recognize how much of your daily calorie intake that food represents. For example, if you love a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast, you could have it. Then, you might only have salad for lunch, and cooked vegetables for dinner. Believe it or not, a diet plan like that would help you lose weight. You are simply accounting for the foods you like by giving space for them, and removing competing caloric foods. It would not work to have a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast, and then a Big Hamburger/Bun for lunch, and a milk shake for dinner. You get the point. Eat All the Vegetables You Want Here’s another important principle. Include vegetables galore in your diet plan. When you are looking at weight loss, most vegetables do not put weight on you. Of course there are some exceptions, such as starchy and sweet vegetables (potatoes, corn, etc.) It also doesn’t work if your meal plan includes cooked vegetables in oil or butter. However, as a general rule, simple vegetables, raw or steamed, can be added to your meal without harm. If you want to fill up on salad, do so and know that you will be easily on a good track for weight loss. Add Exercise to Your Favorite Diet Plan Another quick way to make a diet plan work is to be sure to add at least 20 minutes of reasonably strenuous exercise daily. It could be as simple as a 20 minute brisk walk. That exercise allows you to include foods you like in your diet plan and know that you are working them off as you walk. If you have a sport that you like, such as tennis or swimming, these are great additions to any diet plan. Include a Day Off in Your Diet Plan Let’s be honest—no one is going to get obese if they give themselves one day off, especially if the other 6 days they are on a good track for weight loss with a healthy diet plan. Do yourself a favor and let yourself have fun once in a while. It will make it easier to stay on track in the long run, and you’ll probably find that after a while, your eating habits change enough so you won’t even need a day off. Good luck. And have fun with the diet plan that you love.
